    Jay Detlefs

    Jay is the owner and founder of Pension Management. Since joining the financial services industry in 1987 he has gained extensive knowledge in insurance, financial planning and federal/state retirement programs.

    Jay feels blessed to work alongside his wife, two sons, son in-law and other advisors whom he has mentored.

    Jay is originally from Baton Rouge, Louisiana and graduated from Louisiana State University in 1964. He maintains a series 6 and 26 license in addition to a life, health and annuity license.

    Jay enjoys spending time with his four children and seven grandchildren. He is an active member of Christ's Church in Jacksonville and enjoys date nights with his wife every Friday and LSU sports.

    Philip Detlefs

    For Philip Detlefs, helping people make the most of their financial assets is rewarding work. Philip enjoys guiding his clients as they implement the investment strategies that help them meet their financial and life goals.

    As a financial advisor and family member of Pension Management, Philip takes a comprehensive approach to wealth management. He sees his role as helping people make well-informed decisions about their investments and retirement plans—helping to provide them with greater financial independence, peace of mind, and security.

    Since joining the financial industry in 2001, Philip has help build and grow the family business. As an investment advisor representative, he helps protect and grow the hard-earned assets of his clients, many of whom have experienced major life changes including starting out, changing jobs, coping with unemployment, getting married, starting a family, buying a home, saving for college, starting a business, planning for retirement, Long-Term Care planning, planning an estate, planning for business succession, nearing retirement/retirement, loss of a spouse, financial windfall and getting divorced.

    Philip graduated from the Florida State University with a bachelor's degree in Finance and Marketing. He holds series 7, 63 and 66 registrations. He also holds an RFC (registered financial consultant) certification and is a member of the IARFC (International Association of Registered Financial Consultants).

    Philip also values his professional relationships. Philip has been a part of the local BNI (Business Networking International) chapter since 2006. He has served as both the Secretary/Treasurer and chapter President. He is also a member of the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce and the South council. Philip is also a contributing author to foxbusiness.com.

    When he's not working, Philip enjoys spending time with his wife, Courtney and their three children. Philip is an avid golfer and loves his FSU Seminoles football.

    Nick A. Edwards, CFP®

    Nick Edwards is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Professional with over a decade of experience navigating rough economic terrain. Serving both the local and national marketplace, he specializes in retirement planning, asset management, and the addressing the unique needs of small business owners.  

    Nick is guided by a philosophy that education is an essential part of every client relationship, believing prudent financial decisions are the natural byproduct of increased awareness and understanding. For him, ensuring clients understand “Why?” always takes precedence to discovering “How?”

    Nick’s passion for equipping the public with the "essentials" of sound money management is evidenced by a career-spanning resume of community outreach. He has produced live radio programs and podcasts, published newsletters, and frequently teaches local classes covering a broad range of financial topics. 

    His approach to financial planning is centered on the three basic elements he feels most investors seek in an advisory relationship: Simplicity, Predictability, and Value.  In short- Nick believes consumers want to understand what’s happening with their money; they want things to happen when expected, as expected; and, most of all, they desire an overwhelming sense of confidence that their advisor’s compensation is the best investment of all.

    Nick entered the industry in 2001, spending his entire career at the Pension Management while graciously enjoying the camaraderie and support of close friends and family. When not feeding an insatiable hunger for financial information, he can usually be found having fun with his perfect wife, Christina, and four best pals, daughters, Avery, Piper, Finley, and Carsen. 



    Nathan Edwards, CFA, CFP®

    Nathan is a CFA® charterholder and a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional. He is committed to the idea that establishing clearly defined financial objectives is the keystone of the financial planning process. With these objectives as the foundation for a viable financial plan, Nathan believes that it is possible to elevate one’s peace of mind and financial wellbeing both now and into the future. When he is not helping others achieve their financial goals, Nathan soaks up every moment that he is fortunate enough to spend in the company of his wife and son.


    Chad Detlefs

    For Chad Detlefs, helping his clients work toward their financial goals is the most rewarding part of his work. Chad works together with his clients to develop strategies that will help his clients pursue financial independence during retirement. Chad joined the family business in 1998 and works closely with his family members and colleagues. As a registered representative, Chad actively works with clients with a goal of wealth preservation. He enjoys working closely with his clients so that they can make well-informed decisions about their financial assets. He feels that it is important that his clients understand the different types of financial products and how to properly implement them to help provide income in their retirement years.

    Chad graduated from the University of Florida in 1998 with a bachelor's degree. In addition to holding a series 6 securities license, he has his life, health and annuity license. In his free time, Chad enjoys golfing, fishing, playing with his dog and going to sporting events. Go Gators!

    Nick M. Riscigno

    Nick graduated from Florida State University with degrees in Finance and Real Estate. Away from the office, he enjoys spending time with his wife Ann Marie and their 2 children, Nicholas and Madison. He coaches youth baseball, and watches both of the kids participate in many extracurricular activities. When there is any time left, he is also an avid sports fan and enjoys spending time in the gym and occasionally on the golf course.

    Nick has been with Pension Management since 2006. He works with individuals and small businesses utilizing various strategies and financial solutions to help meet their goals for retirement. He has been in a variety of financial related positions for most of his 22 professional years, including 5 years as a Financial Analyst and several as a Comptroller. He believes that his prior experiences dealing mainly with analyzing and making decisions with corporate funds were an ideal foundation for his career as a registered representative.

    Nick believes that the cornerstone of financial preparation is the recognition that everyone's economic and life situations are unique. This requires personalized service and the ability to match clients with the right financial products and services. He enjoys the process and challenge of being able to determine a client's needs and then to put a personalized portfolio together to best meet their needs.

    Some of the areas that Nick has spent time helping clients with include: starting a new job, changing jobs, dealing with layoffs/unemployment, starting a family, buying a home, education and retirement preparation, estate planning, small business retirement plans, inheritance, loss of spouse/significant other and divorce.


    Ann Detlefs

    Ann graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in Marketing and a minor in education.  After teaching one year in Michigan she moved to Jacksonville with her husband, Jay, and began a teaching career with the Duval County Public School system.  She taught in the school system for 20 years while raising 4 children.

    Ann began her career with Pension Management in the year 2000 to join her husband in business.  Having a background in the public school system made her able to specialize in retirement planning for both state employees and individuals with pension plans.  This specialized knowledge has helped many of her clients and their spouses successfully plan for retirement though the use of their pensions, social security, and qualified plans such as 401k’s, 403b’s, IRA’s, and Roth IRA’s.   In the planning process she takes into account the possible expenses in the later years of retirement including long term care and well as Medicare and Medicare supplements.

    Each client has unique needs, goals , and values.  She enjoys using her teaching skills to educate each of her clients so that they can make educated decisions regarding their investments and retirement plans.

    Her joys include her grown children, her seven grandchildren, playing tennis, and going to the movies.


    Dana Brehm

    Dana joined Pension Management in August, 2006.  He spent the previous eight years as a registered representative and the senior specialist of the Merrill Lynch Insurance Group.  He graduated from Ft. Lewis College in 1998 with a degree in Finanace and Business Administration. At our firm, Dana works primarily with retirement planning strategies, long term investments, life insurance needs, college funding and product research.  Dana enjoys, spending time with his son Ethan, doing anything that involves being outdoors.


    Art Livingston

    Art has been working in the financial services industry since 1993, and joined Pension Management in 1994.  A graduate of Taylor University with a B.A., and Dallas Theological Seminary with a Th.M., Art has found his time spent in pastoral ministry to be a great asset in caring not only for the financial needs of his clients, but also their emotional, and spiritual needs as well.  His creative design skills are evident in many of the forms and computer programs used on a daily basis by Pension Management.

    Art has a heart for people and for helping plan for their future. He specializes in dealing with the many intricacies of the Florida Retirement System, DROP, and the many challenges that people face in preparing for a prosperous and fulfilling retirement.


    Scott Jacobs

    Scott is a Registered Investment Advisor representative and joined the Investment Management Group in 2009.  Prior to that, Scott worked for the Jacksonville Jaguars as a Business Development Executive and at Grace Episcopal School of Orange Park, FL as their Director of Development. When you meet Scott you will immediately tell that he loves his work and enjoys helping people. 


    Kelly Lueckert

    Kelly graduated from Florida State University with a B.A. in English and minor in Spanish.  She has been with Pension Management for about a year and is currently supporting four of our agents.  She also helps maintain our client database and is a notary public.

    In her spare time, Kelly enjoys going to the beach and spending time with her family.  She and her husband, Mike, have an eighteen-month-old son named Dylan who is very active and keeps them busy. 


    Bob Horne

    Bob is a native of Jacksonville and has been actively involved in the financial services industry for over 10 years. As a financial advisor with Investment Management Group, Bob believes strong relationships are built on trust, honor, and integrity. His passion is helping individuals and families navigate the financial complexities of building wealth and planning for retirement.

    He has passed the Series 6 and 65 securities exams and holds his life, health and annuity license in the state of Florida. He enjoys what he does and has gained his clients’ trust by helping them with their long-term retirement solutions. He finds it important to educate his clients before they make decisions affecting their retirement. His goal is to simplify the seemingly complex issue of retirement for clients who are planning for their future.

    Prior to working with Pension Management, Bob was a Senior Advisor with First Coast Financial Group. He has also served as Assistant Vice President and Branch Manager for the consumer lending division of HSBC Bank.

    Outside of work, Bob is actively involved with his church and currently serves on the board of directors with local non-profit organization Hartfelt Ministries. He is a founding member and past President of the Capital Gain Chapter of BNI (Business Networking International). Bob currently resides in Mandarin, FL with his wife and three daughters. In his spare time, he enjoys being outdoors and spending time with his family.

    Chris Morrison

    Chris is a native of Jacksonville and has been in the financial services industry since 1999. The most rewarding part of his job is knowing that his clients and prospective clients have all the information they need to make educated decisions regarding their financial matters.

    Chris often meets with individuals that own unique financial instruments that they don’t understand and/or that are inappropriate for their situation. He feels it is his responsibility to take the time to thoroughly inform, leaving them with the financial confidence that comes with knowing they made the right choice for their needs.

    Prior to working with Investment Management Group, Chris served as Assistant Branch Manager at HSBC Bank starting in 2001. He has passed the Series 6 and 65 securities exams and holds his life, health and annuity license in the state of Florida.

    Chris is the President and founder of Durbin Community Connections business networking group located in St. Johns, Fl. He has been featured in the Creekline Newspaper and has been a contributor for the Durbin Crossing Living, a publication by the Florida Times Union.

    Chris lives with his wife Reanna and two wonderful children Tanner & Cameron in St. Johns. Away from the business he enjoys golf, University of Florida football, community activities and coaching his son in sports.
